NEST
(New and Emerging Science and Technology) is a new activity in the Sixth
Framework Programme (FP6) to support unconventional and visionary research
with the potential to open new fields for European science and technology.
In NEST, interdisciplinary research is encouraged and there are no restrictions
on the scientific fields to be addressed.
In the proposal for the Seventh framework programme adopted on April 6th,
2005 (see below Preparation of FP7), the Commission proposed four
main specific programmes, including:
NEST-IDEA
(http://www.nest-idea.net)
is a Specific Support Action financed by the European Commission within
the NEST programme aiming to promote the dialogue with the research community
on emerging scientific and technological developments.
The
NEST-IDEA team is carrying out a survey to get to know the point of view
of researchers on the future of NEST within the coming Seventh Framework
Programme under preparation.
We
would appreciate, if you could take some minutes to tell us your opinion
about the future of NEST.
